Prior to joining GarMark in 2016, Mr. Layden was a Managing Director and Investment Committee Member of Star Mountain Capital. Mr. Layden has been a Co-Founder, Managing Partner and Chief Compliance Officer of York Street Capital Partners, a private debt firm that invested $559MM and provided $124MM of co-investment across two mezzanine funds, since its founding in 2002. Mr. Layden together with Robert Golding built York Street de novo and, as Co-Chair of the Investment Committee, developed its credit culture. Mr. Layden served in a board capacity in companies such as Prestige Brands, Neptune Technology Group and The Service Companies. From 1996 until 2002, Mr. Layden was with The CIT Group as a Senior Director in the Corporate Finance Group. From 1991 until 1996, Mr. Layden served as a Director in the Structured Finance Group at AT&T Capital Corporation. Additionally, Mr. Layden served as an Analyst, Associate and Pricing Manager in the Lease and Project Finance Group at AT&T Capital. Previously, Mr. Layden served in various financial capacities with increasing levels of responsibility at Reuben H. Donnelley Corporation and Xerox Credit Corporation.
Mr. Layden received his M.B.A. from The George Washington University and his B.A. from Fairfield University.
